What a bounty we have been blessed enough to enjoy!!!!
Blackberries and blueberries are in abundance and we are making use of every clear day (and even a few overcast ones-less heat!) gathering these beauties.
Everyone really enjoys this time of year and we all head out , baskets and pails in hand. The big kids like to see who can get the prize-winning biggest berries. The littler ones are more interested in eating what they pick!
The rule is, if you are going to eat it, YOU must pick it. No dipping in to other folk's baskets!
We make jam and muffins, pancakes and pastries. Mairin and Aidan's lattice work topped pies deserve a blue ribbon! Even the dolls get their own pies!!!!!
Most of these delights go into the freezer for later use in smoothies and other treats.
No telling how long this harvest will last, but we'll be out there collecting until the last one ripens.
